Listen Repeat Privacy Policy

Scope: Listen Repeat website and Android/iOS app

1. General

Everyground Co., Ltd. (the "Company") operates the Listen Repeat website and Android/iOS app, complies with applicable laws such as the Personal Information Protection Act and the Network Act, and is committed to protecting user information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and destroy personal information during sign-up, use, support, and subscription payments.

2. Personal Information We Process

We process the minimum personal information necessary to provide the Service.

  • Required: email address (for sign-up and login identification)
  • Service usage info: learning materials such as audio, wordbooks, and scripts, files uploaded to cloud storage, shared link data
  • Technical info: device type (Android/iPhone), OS/app version, access time, logs, error reports, IP address
  • Subscription info: payment identifiers from app stores, subscription status, expiration date, refund status (Google/Apple payment IDs, etc.). We do not collect sensitive payment details such as card numbers.
  • Customer support: email address, service usage details, and attachments submitted in inquiries

3. Purposes of Processing

We do not use personal information beyond the scope reasonably related to the purposes above; if purposes change, we obtain prior consent.

  • User identification, login, and fraud prevention
  • Provide core features such as listening player, TTS wordbooks, AI script extraction, and cloud storage
  • Verify subscription payments, billing, benefits, and auto-renewal management
  • Respond to inquiries, analyze errors, and improve service quality
  • Storage operations, data backup, legal compliance, and dispute handling
  • Operate additional services such as ads and free Librivox audiobooks

4. Retention and Use Period

We delete personal information and cloud materials immediately upon account deletion. If required by law, we keep minimum data separately for the required period.

  • Account info and cloud materials: deleted immediately upon withdrawal or once the service purpose is achieved
  • Service usage logs and access records: retained for 3 months under the Protection of Communications Secrets Act
  • Consumer dispute records: retained for 3 years under the E-Commerce Act
  • Subscription payments and refunds: retained for 5 years under tax and e-commerce laws

5. Provision to Third Parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties in principle.

However, with user consent or when required by law, or for payment/refund processing, we may provide minimum information to Google Play, Apple App Store, and other app stores (items needed to verify subscription status).

No personal information is shared when providing free Librivox audiobooks.

6. Outsourcing of Processing

We may outsource certain tasks such as cloud infrastructure and log analysis to specialized vendors. There are currently no vendors to disclose. If outsourcing occurs, we will notify users and obtain consent as required.

7. Rights of Users and Legal Guardians

  • You can view, correct, delete, or request suspension of processing through in-app settings or support.
  • Children under 14 may register only with guardian consent; guardians may request access and correction of the child's information.
  • Members can cancel subscriptions via their app store account or support, and all data is deleted immediately upon withdrawal.
  • Requests can be submitted via email (contact below); we will take action without delay and notify results.

8. Procedures and Methods of Destruction

We delete personal information without delay when the retention period expires or the purpose is achieved.

  • Procedure: data subject to deletion is moved to a separate DB or deleted immediately, then kept or destroyed according to law.
  • Method: electronic files are deleted using methods that prevent recovery; paper documents are shredded or incinerated.
  • Cloud materials: when an account is deleted or deletion is requested, all audio files, wordbooks, share links, and metadata are deleted immediately and backups are overwritten periodically.

9. Security Measures

  • Technical measures: encryption (TLS in transit), access control, anomaly monitoring, data backup and disaster recovery systems
  • Administrative measures: minimal access rights, regular security training, and oversight of subcontractors
  • Physical measures: servers placed in secure areas with controlled access

10. Advertising and Analytics

The Service displays ads. Ad platforms (e.g., Google AdMob, Apple Ads) may collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, and app usage patterns. Processing follows each platform's privacy policy.

Users can reset ad IDs or limit ad tracking in device settings.

Librivox public domain audiobooks do not require additional personal data collection.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy due to changes in law, service policy, or security environment. Material changes will be notified at least 7 days in advance via service notice and email.

Revisions take effect on the effective date. If you do not agree, you may stop using the service and withdraw.

13. Personal Data Processing for Guest AI Script Extraction

When non-members use the AI script extraction feature, we obtain separate consent and process data as follows.

If requested, we support access or deletion of personal data; inquiries can be submitted to the contact in section 11.

  • Collected items: audio files uploaded by the user, transcription results, error logs
  • Purpose: limited to providing AI script extraction; deleted immediately after completion
  • Retention: deleted immediately after extraction; system logs kept for 3 months then destroyed
  • Third-party provision: none. Audio files are not shared with third parties.
  • Withdrawal: guests may withdraw consent at any time, which limits use of the feature.
